ICE Buckets: Improved Counter Estimation for Network Measurement
Measurement capabilities are essential for a variety of network applications, such as load balancing, routing, fairness and intrusion detection. These capabilities require large counter arrays in order to monitor the traffic of all network flows. While commodity SRAM memories are capable of operating at line speed, they are too small to accommodate large counter arrays. Previous works suggested...

ESTIMATION OF RADIATION LOSS FROM STELLARATORS USING NEOCLASSICAL TRANSPORT THEORY
The radiation power loss from a magnetically confined plasma in a stellarator has been calculated using neoclassical particle and energy fluxes in an energy balance equation. We could obtain a power loss of about 34% of the total input power by numerical calculation. This fraction of the power loss has been found to be in good agreement with the experimentally measured values of 30-40% for...
متن کاملEffect of pre-aerated approach flow on deflector-generated jets
Flip buckets are terminal spillway elements, generating free jets for energy dissipation. Deflectors are an alternative to flip buckets with constructional ease yet of similar hydraulic features. A first experimental study published at the 33 IAHR Congress, Vancouver, investigated deflectorgenerated jets in terms of their air concentration characteristics. For jet impact onto a movable bed, the...
متن کاملHead-on collisions of dense granular jets.
We study head-on impacts of equal-speed but unequal-width incompressible jets in two dimensions with a focus on dense granular jets. We use discrete particle simulations to show that head-on impact of granular jets produces a quasi-steady-state where a fraction of the excess incident momentum from the larger jet is captured by an impact center that drifts steadily over time. By varying the diss...
